„Kartagina” is a joint project from O.S.T.R. and Marco Polo, a Canadian producer living in the United States. The album was released in two versions: a regular one and a special edition. The special edition contained a 72-page cover, a brass coin, a bandana, a poster, and a sticker pack, and all this was put in an occasional box. A complex advertising campaign was divided into several parts: the first of them was the cover. It featured all the lyrics, pictures of street art works illustrating each track, and information for the needs of a location-based and online game called “Kartagina”. Additionally, in each of the partner spots (cafes, clubs, pubs, galleries), there was an item that was connected with, and referring to the project. This allowed us to further increase the target audience by incorporating additional people who might otherwise never hear about the album. Each item contained the URL directing to the project’s website, and an answer to be provided in a special application. Players’ objective was to visit as many places as they could to be able to provide the correct answers to the questions. The final element, gluing the whole project together, was the www.kartagina.info portal. The website contained all the information on the project: pictures, illustrations from the album cover, images, video clips, and links to articles and descriptions. This way the content of the page was created by the listeners. They were able to upload their own images, pictures, as well as to inform the administrator about what happened next to the “Kartagina” project. The website was created as a kind of homage to the listeners. Right from the release date, each listener could build their own Kartagina together with the creators of the album.
